Discord is an American company that offers users a free messaging service that supports IP telephony and video conferencing. About 56 million people use Discord every month, and its total audience exceeds 270 million users.
Discord is valued at $15 billion after the next round of financing in September 2021. Dragoneer Investment Group, which previously invested in Spotify, Uber and Snap, became the company's lead investor.
Discord is making thorough preparations for an IPO in 2022, but the official offering date is not yet known. To increase the company's potential, investments have been raised to develop the technology it uses, and in the spring of 2021, Tomasz Marcinkowski, who previously worked at Pinterest, was hired as the first chief financial officer.
The popularity of the Discord messaging service has grown significantly since the beginning of the pandemic. Discord has also launched YouTube integration in test mode. The ‘Watch Together’ feature allows chat participants to watch videos together. Players can share their screen with each other, all while using minimal resources.
